Is Anyone Out There????

Hello former readers.

Hoping to get you reading again starting next week with some great thoughts I've been pondering in the last few weeks and months.

This last year has been crazy for our family. The ups and downs of the fostering and now the final path towards adoption. Gil's 5 months of unemployment, and my mom's illness and her being in and out of the hospital and the care she required at home. Well it's been a little overwhelming and didn't make me feel much like blogging last year.  Besides I try to have an up beat blog and that time was not very up beat.

However, most of this is behind us now. We still wait for the finalization of the adoption but at this point we are a family without many interruptions on that front.

My mom had to have back surgery the week before Christmas due to an abscess that formed in the area of her compression fracture. I have no doubt that abscess was God sent after she decided in October not to have the surgery to fix her back. Well with them going in to clear out the abscess she got the surgery she needed and is on the mend.

I will also tell you that while we were going through those things it was hard to add to or even some days keep up our path to a more self sufficient life but the things we had done before all this happened helped us make it through. We are now more focused on self sufficiency and taking it to the next level. Look for some posts on these subjects to come out of Lemonade and Gingerbread as well in the near future.

As for the stay home project we are in prayer on this matter right now and there may be a slight change in the date. We are waiting for adoption to finalize, and also we still have a few more debts that we could easily take care of if I stayed working 6 months longer. We will see. Also, there may be some good reasons to keep Princess B in school a little longer - but I can't share that now.

Lastly, I want to share with you that I've come to a new faith this past year. One day soon I will share my testimony but lets say the last 3 years, since my cancer diagnosis, have proven to me that I didn't have the faith I thought I did. But more on that later.

In the mean time let me just say may God bless you all this weekend and I look forward to picking up where I left off at Lemonade and Gingerbread this coming Monday.

Blessings

Mama S.
